The International Ballet Festival of Miami (IBFM) is pleased to announce the finale of their three week long celebration of ballet. The extravaganza of dance ends this weekend, Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, with two spectacular performances that lovers of ballet, dance, and art won’t want to miss. The shows feature stars of renowned ballet companies from across the world—Austria, France, Chile, Brazil, Mexico, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, and the USA—dancing to beloved pas de deux from famous classical ballets.

Saturday, August 17 at 8:00 P.M. in the Fillmore Miami Beach Jackie Gleason theater, spectators can experience Etoiles Classical Grand Gala. The festival ends on Sunday, August 18 at 5:00 P.M. at the Miami Dade County Auditorium with Festival Closing Gala. The performances are a mix of classical and neo classical, and are worth viewing for the magical nights that will certainly be had.

With every Gala Performance, IBFM presents the “A Life for Dance” Lifetime Achievement Award to a legend in the world of dance, as well as the “Criticism and Culture of Ballet” Dance Journalism Award. The two figureheads receiving this honor this year are Maestro Wilhelm Bermann and Washington Post Arts critic Sarah Kaufman, respectively. Their dedication to the preservation of ballet keeps the world of dance spinning.
