Miami City Ballet Announces 2018-2019 Season

(Miami, Florida) July 10, 2018

The Miami City Ballet is thrilled to announce their 2018-2019 season. The season officially begins on October 19, 2018 and lasts until April 14, 2019. The exciting line-up consists of a number of favorites and some lesser-known, but equally awe inspiring shows.

Program One begins the season with a bang on October 19. The show features two George Balachine pieces—Concerto Barocco and Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No. 2, and finally Company B by Paul Taylor.

The holiday season is in full swing by December 7, when George Balachine’s The Nutcracker begins its magical run.

On January 11, Program Two begins. The performance features masterworks by Jerome Robbins– Dances at a Gathering and Brahms/Handel. Program Three, beginning on February 22, includes Heatscape, Flower Festival in Genzano Pas de Deux, and two Balachine works: Duo Concertant and The Four Temperaments. These pieces are modern and groundbreaking in the world of ballet.

The season ends with a colorful reimagining of a classic Shakespeare tale: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The run begins March 29.

The Miami City Ballet has been inspiring not only South Floridians, but people across the world, since 1986. A monumentally talented and hardworking ensemble performs over 100 times annually. Seeing the cast perform is a breath-taking and worthwhile experience.
